Lara Gurgel
Brazil Trade Hub Manager, Palladium
Lara has a degree in advertising and a specialization in foreign trade. She has 14 years of experience in international business promotion and partnership development in the public and private sectors. Currently, she is the Manager of the Brazil-UK Trade Facilitation Program, a bilateral initiative financed by the UK Government that aims to provide inclusive social and economic development in Brazil by inserting micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) in foreign trade.
Lara is also the Director of Communications and Outreach at the Women Inside Trade (WIT). The association aims to draw attention to the gender gap that still lasts in Brazil and around the world and actively contribute to women’s economic empowerment by influencing as well as strengthening the international trade community and providing more visibility to the work of excellence developed by women in this field. Moreover, she is Director of Strategic Planning at the Brazilian Institute of Government Relations (IrelGov), the first Brazilian think tank dedicated to discuss and reflect on government relations, aiming to raise the level of professionalism, competence, and ethical standards of the activity, in a transparent and informative way.
Previously, Lara worked as Head of Trade Promotion at the Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency (Apex-Brasil), where she developed international trade promotion projects for Brazilian companies, including cross-border e-commerce actions. More recently, she worked at the United Nations Children’s Fund (Unicef), coordinating partnerships with the private sector to guarantee the rights of children and adolescents in Brazil.
